Rod Nicholls

Commodore 2010-2013

Rod Nicholls has lived on the island all his life, apart from 5 years in the Merchant Navy when he was working for a Canadian Company after serving an apprenticeship at J.S. Whites. He joined the ISC in 1959

He started sailing in dinghies, then the Hornet Class. Day boat racing in IODs, X boats, Dragon & Darings. Progressing to Keelboats on the 12m Vanity V, Sid Coles Shareen, Richard Thirlbys Maverick, and Sir Max Aitkens Perseverance and Knockout. Finally 20 years with the Contessa 32 fleet.
