ISC CASTLE 1989

This Carving is positioned in the Entrance Hall

This wooden Castle was carved by Norman Gaches. The Isle of Wight Master Carpenter and Woodcarver.

Ten years after the first suggestion, the flat (Seaview House) was at last converted as a bar, and both ladies' and gentlemen's lavatories were installed. As this was completed at the end of 1989, it was appropriately called the Centenary Room. Flag officers in office at the time had this wooden castle carved to record the centenary and this was put into the new bar.

This carving has been repositioned and can now be seen in the Entrance Hall.
